City High School offers a comprehensive and very active music program. In 2003, for the third year, City High School’s music program was named one of the best in the nation by the Grammy Foundation, the same organization that gives out the coveted gold awards to music stars each year. City High students have the opportunity to  participate in a variety of performance groups that include over 16 elective classes in Band, Orchestra, and Vocal Music. In addition the program offers many extra curricular opportunities. Full academic credit is given for performance music classes.
